Last Minute At Home New Year’s Eve Party

Happy almost new year friends! It is so crazy how fast this past year has gone, not to mention how fast this decade has flown by!

The New Year’s Eve planning period typically falls in that twilight zone time between Christmas and December 31st where no one knows what day it is and you haven’t changed out of your favorite sweatpants in days. So why not throw together a fun, low-key New Year’s Eve celebration in the comfort of your own home?!

Here are some easy go to last minute party hacks:

Fancy Pants Charcuterie Snack Board

Nothing says New Years like glitz and glam, and nothing says comfort like snacks! So combine the two by hitting up your local Trader Joe’s or grocery store and filling up on cheese, crackers, fruit, pretzels, and whatever else sounds yummy. Organize them together on a cutting board or tray of your choice and VOILA!

Make It A Game Night

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a good game night with friends. Make it a potluck game night and have your friends/family members bring over their favorite party games so that you can compete head to head until the ball drops!

  • And on that note, my mom used to always have a Murder Mystery game night with friends on NYE – here is my favorite website that has easy to use and fun to play murder mystery games!

Glasses Half Full

Whether you are drinking champagne or sparkling Martenelli’s or just lemonade, fancy champagne glasses make every party feel a little more glam. Target often has cute plastic sparkly champagne glasses for a couple dollars!

Rock The Clock Decor

Everybody knows that NYE is all about the countdown. So here is a cute and easy idea to add a little clock-themed magic to your little soiree. This ADORABLE balloon clock is by Twinkle Twinkle Little Party – such a cute and easy backdrop for your last minute party that can be done in 20 minutes! Find the tutorial here.

Ball Drop It Like It’s Hot

Watching the Ball Drop on New Year’s Eve is a MUST! Hook your computer up to a projector and project it onto a big screen or blank wall for the ultimate at home party backdrop!

Wishing you the happiest of New Year’s and hoping your 2020 is as fabulous as you are!

  1. What wonderful ideas for new years!! We did a similar spread with the charcuterie last year, and it was one of our favorite things we’ve done. And you can’t go wrong with the choices from TJ’s! Thanks for sharing, Carly! Xo
